Which age group does your child fit into? And what classes are open to them?
Pre-School
AGES 3-5
Here is where their dance journey begins, the classes available are Pre-School Acro and the Pre-School class which consists of Ballet and an introduction to Tap. These classes are full of fun and encouragement and here is where they begin to learn the foundations of each of the genres.
The children will also be given the opportunity to perform in the bi-annual show and dance competitions throughout the year. The classes on offer are listed below:
Junior
AGES 7+
Junior age group classes are a lot more varied and we now have even more classes on offer. This age group is where the children start to really learn the foundations in many genres and get to train technique and performance through syllabus and free classes. Once the children take their first exam in the Petite Pirouetter classes they can start to move up through the Grades and this may be before the age of 7, this means there may be some cross over in the classes. The classes on offer are listed below:

Petite Pirouetter
AGES 5+
Our Petite Pirouetter classes are a combination of ISTD Primary Ballet, Primary Tap and Primary Modern, each class 30 minutes long. This gives the children a chance to learn all 3 disciplines and have a smooth transition from the pre-school classes without it feeling too overwhelming. There are also other classes on offer for our Petite Pirouetter's.The classes on offer are listed below:
Inter
AGES 11+
In Inter the pupils can try all of the classes Pirouette has to offer which allows them to have such a varied training. Throughout Inter real improvement can happen and the children start to really develop in all forms of their dance and Musical Theatre. We encourage the pupils to try new things that will challenge them, champion hard work and motivation and allow the children to blossom into lovely young performers independently and as a team. Senior
AGES 15+
Our Senior pupils at Pirouette train at a very high level in their chosen genres. All Seniors will be at different stages depending on their previous training, the age they started, and when they joined the class. All ISTD exams are government recognised, allowing senior students to gain extra UCAS points through their exams. We feel this is a huge benefit for our older pupils, whatever their next chapter in life may be.
At Pirouette, we aim to provide pupils with the skills needed for their journey into the adult world beyond Pirouette - skills they can carry with them whatever their next steps may be. We strive to nurture well-rounded individuals who blossom into independent young adults. By the time pupils become Seniors, many of them have been part of the school for years, and we always find this stage to be such an integral part of their performing journey.
